Paul Prewitt is an experienced marketing and communications professional with many years of experience leading integrated collaborative marketing efforts, social media marketing, web development, print publications, email marketing and brand management. Paul’s passion is building stronger universities through integrated data-driven marketing strategies, brand management, and collaborative campus partnerships.
Paul is regularly invited to present at conferences across the country on the use of social media, email marketing, integrated marketing and campus wide collaboration in higher education.
Paul has earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Information Systems from the University of Arkansas, Sam M. Walton College of Business. He also became an Inbound Marketing Certified Professional with the inaugural class in July, 2009.
Shortly after graduation, in 2004, Paul returned to the University of Arkansas to follow his passion and help build a stronger University for tomorrow. He worked at the University of Arkansas Alumni Association as the Electronic Communications Coordinator where he pioneered the social media presence for the University & the Alumni Association and helped establish many others across the campus. In an effort to better coordinate the overall use of new media on campus Paul established and chaired the University of Arkansas Social Media Marketing & Email Marketing groups for the campus.
Today, Paul is the Director of Online Engagement at Michigan State University where he leads a brand new team to drive key alumni and donor behaviors such as: making donations, joining the MSU Alumni Association, updating records and engaging with the institution. Paul is also working with MSU Advancement and peers within Higher Ed to better define “engagement” in order to align the goals of Higher Ed with the expectations of younger generations.
